All the Flowers

Becky, Todd, Tim and I headed up to Rich’s folks house in Beverly Saturday. With a stately, brick driveway entrance flanked by Gillian’s gorgeous gardens, their home originally housed horses for the main estate up the hill, and has been lovingly converted over the years.

The Benton’s had us all up for a bbq and what a treat that Rich’s sister Diana and her family were also in tow, up from NYC. It was awesome to meet her girls - they are each an excellent trip, to be expected of course! 

Gillian had recently completed a needlepoint piece for an antique footstool cover and I loved it so much that I think I may have managed to find the original design online. Her colors were a little different, but I think I might be close! With the words of 4 year old Georgie’s off-the-cuff flower song ringing in my ears, “accompanied” by older sister Eva singing All things Bright and Beautiful, while surrounded by Gillian’s lush gardens, I think it is the perfect image for an excellent day:

“And the flowers grow under the trees and the bees are in the flowers and the trees make the shade for the flowers and they grow and are beautiful and the sun makes them grow!!”
