In NYC with Dad today - First stop: The Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side. Alongside the North Carolina Museum of Art and Gropius House, this museum is now on my top three list. As always, I am completely enamored with places gone by but clearly still inhabited by the presence of the people who lived and worked within them. There is something so moving about standing in a building out of use since the 30′s, in the middle of this ever hustling, modernizing city.
