I’ve driven and walked past this large swath of towering bamboo countless times. It has made quite the rigorous home for itself in and around the creek at the bottom of our road. Today I decided to walk straight into it and discovered an oasis of calm. It may drive us crazy as it falls across the road heavy with snow, but today the smooth, strong and resilient trunks felt so good in my hands while the creek and the birds sang of springtime.
