A Slow invasion of Freedom Cove - We were headed down the drive on a frigid winter night shortly after getting a call from Steve. He wanted to transplate some cacti on his slope of land next to our driveway entrance and asked if we didn’t mind. We said of course not and so there he was in the dark - not so much transplanting as dumping a truckload of cacti over the hill.“Are you sure those are gonna survive the next few nights of below freezing temps, Steve?”“Oh sure. Some will die, but a few will survive for sure. In fact, the guy I got them from said they’re so hardy they’ll eat your land up before you know it!”A coupla months later and we have tons of cacti skeletons on our drive and the slope looks like some sort of pandemic struck their kind. But for sure a few plants are rising tall like zombies from a cacti graveyard - not sure what we agreed to - only time will tell.A Slow invasion of Freedom Cove
